Spanish for “fear” or “dread,” the song title "Temor" was in place before any lyrics were ever written.
Producer Girubato and Charles met and bonded through Instagram during the pandemic, while Tiff Ortiz and Charles had met in-person through the Brooklyn music scene in the before times. Seeking to encapsulate a particularly dark period of fear and worry over the potential loss of love, Girubato produced and sent the initial instrumental demo to Charles, who had just began a separate collab conversation with Tiff. When Charles received the instrumental from Girubato, it was obvious that the song should be a collab between all three artists
Charles shared the instrumental with Tiff, who quickly wrote her soulful verse and the Spanish chorus. Charles was hooked, added his verse, harmonies, additional production, and mixed the track. The end result was a wistful slow jam full of groove, intricate melodies, and hypnotic heartache.
lyrics
Would you ever send a letter
I'll be here when you say what you believe There's nothing like a written poem
That tells me what you wanna see
And if you want, you can have
All the things you want from me
Todo lo que pienso de ti
Todo lo que piensas de mí
Todo lo que, todo lo que pienso de ti Todo lo que piensas de mí
Todo lo que, todo lo que
Pasé bastante tiempo en tu amor
Baby I was stressin’, I was bored
Self care looking to me
Like a bottle and delivery that I can't afford But tell me your order
Get it for you
Put it on a platter, bring it forward Just tell me what you need
And I’ll
Be anyone that you want to know
Y tú
Siempre juegas con el corazón
Juntos
Stuck on the same part of the song
Ya no podemos quedarnos es hora to move on
And if
And if you ever do want me
(If you ever do want me)
You can have what I can give
Oh but if you really don't want it
(If you really don’t want it)
Then I'll turn ‘round, won't stay here (Goodbye)
But would you ever send a letter
(All you ever want is what you can't deal)
Would you say what you believe
(No you never want what you can't handle my feel) There's nothing like a written sonnet
(All you ever want is what you can't deal)
So please tell me you see me
(No you never want what you can't handle my feel)
(You have to feel)
Todo lo que piensas de mí
Todo lo que, todo lo que pienso de ti (You have to feel)
Todo lo que piensas de mí
Todo lo que pienso de ti
Todo lo que piensas de mí
(You have to)
Todo lo que
